Hardwood Music Company "12 Key" Padauk & Oak Tongue Drum

Our Notes: This drum is a part of collection that came to us from a customer who was cleaning out his mother-in-law's estate. She was an educator and music lover who hosted drum circles and open jams. She had placed stickers on the keys labeling the notes - the wood is discolored where the stickers once were. On the underside are four rubber feet at the corners. Also on the underside is a handwritten sticker that says: "Padauk/Oak '12 Key'". Comparing this to handwriting and signature on the other tongue drums from the estate we can say this was written by Michael Thiel, the maker.

Handcrafted in Flagstaff, Arizona using carefully selected exotic hardwoods. The Chorded 12-Key is our most popular instrument and one of our most musically versatile. This tuning features four chords: C, F, G, and A minor, or a I - IV - V - vi chord progression in the key of C. The instrument is well-suited to be played with hands or mallets, freestyle or to the tune of a favorite song.
