Scandalli L-992/81 Made in Italy Accordion (USED)

Our Notes: This accordion comes to us from a customer who was cleaning out their home and decided to part ways with their old squeeze box. Italian made, circa 1960s, the accordion overall is in Good condition. There are light signs of standard use and wear on the bellows. The back of the bellows was retaped with modern Italian black ribbon tape. Front of the bellows has original tape in good condition. All keys, buttons, and switches function 100%. Includes an Italian hard case in good condition. The case's outer finish is peeling in some areas due to normal wear & tear and one of the straps frayed and broke away from the rest of the instrument.

The wooden case is made up of various layers of light, but robust wood, able to support the stability of the instrument without affecting the weight.

As the heart of the instrument, the choice of the reeds is very important. They can be made of various materials depending on the model; while we continuously test and experiment to improve performance. For our specialized concert instruments, in addition to the handmade finishing, the experience and talent of our tuner is essential: after the instrument is completed, each reed must be ‘retuned’ to optimize the frequency, attack and precision of the note.

The right-hand keyboard is built and calibrated to provide the accordionist with a lightning fast touch reaction, and a ‘quick return’ of the key, without vibrations that would alter the sound.
