1966 Gibson J-50ADJ Acoustic Guitar w/Case (USED)

1966 Gibson J-50ADJ Acoustic Guitar w/Case (USED)

Our Notes: Serial number 857XXX puts this vintage Gibson at 1966 or 1969.  Based on the one-owner purchase history, it's a '66.  Overall the guitar is in great condition for its age. Finish checking is very light.  Frets are in very good shape. Action measures .090 at the 12th fret on number 6 string with slight relief to the neck. Original tuners were apparently upgraded at some point.  Light pick scratching gives evidence of many versions of "Tom Dooley". Sticker on the original hardshell case evokes the era.  A few minor dings show on the body and rear of the neck. The bridge has started to lift off the face of the guitar ever so slightly. There is also a hairline crack (about 3 inches long) on the back of the guitar starting just below the heel of the neck The bridge pins are not original (nor the strings). The guitar is a terrific player with a nice big sound.  It's ready for another march on Washington. Bonus feature: 2 sets of vintage Martin Marquis M1200 strings. (The guitar is currently strung with 12s).
