You betcha!</strong> <br /><br />Part of our mission here is provide our students with as many new and unique performance opportunities. We see performance as an essential piece of learning how to play an instrument, as important as regular lessons and practice. <br /><br />This was the perfect opportunity to give our students a new chance to hone their performance skills while being a part of a valuable community cause.<br /><br />Coming off the recent student showcase in early June, 17 students eagerly jumped at the opportunity to perform again in front of this new audience. <br /><br />The crowds of supportive family and friends, as well as folks stopping by the library that day, were entertained by students playing the violin, piano, guitar, drums, and singing.<br /><br />Some seasoned performers from our regular open mic were there. As well as a few first-time performers who took the plunge.<br /><br />Thank you to everyone who performed that day! It was a blast. Kids have gotten to experience what it&rsquo;s like to be in a band through learning their favorite songs, practicing them in group rehearsals, and playing them in a concert at the end of the week.</p> <p>Starting this year, we&rsquo;re building on that successful model and kicking things up a notch to give young musicians an even more engaging and exciting rock band experience.</p> <p>Here&rsquo;s what&rsquo;s new:</p> <ul> <li>Extended Day - The camp will now meet for 4 and a half hours a day, from 10:00 to 2:30.</li> <li>Private Lessons - Kids will meet with private instructors to get one-on-one help with their instruments and the songs they&rsquo;re playing.</li> <li>Performance Coaching - By working with our own performance coach the band will develop the skills to put on a concert the audience will never forget.</li> <li>Music Video Production - The band will write, storyboard, and star in their own music video for Youtube which they can share with friends and family.</li> </ul> <p>We&rsquo;re most excited about our new partnership with <a href="http://www.accessfram.tv">Access Framingham Television Studios</a> that will offer young musicians a one-of-a-kind experience. As part of the music video production, kids in the Rock Band Adventure will gain access to their state-of-the-art t.v. studio space and equipment to film a professional quality music video.
