Besides practice, practice, practice…the key to making beautiful music is having an instrument in top playing condition. Despite the musician’s best intentions, things can go wrong with any instrument. Fortunately, there’s not much that goes wrong that can’t be fixed. At Centre Music House we have three excellent sources for repairing your instrument.
Minor repairs such as string replacement, violin bridge or soundpost placement, clarinet spring re-setting, etc. can be made by our in-house staff with minimal down-time to the musician.
Arthur, of Olins Guitars, has been handling our stringed instrument repairs for about 30 years. From simple set-ups to major repairs, he is the guy who can get your guitar playing properly, your violin sounding sweet, your mandolin making music. An excellent craftsman, he takes the time to get the job done right.
About 35 years ago we outgrew our ability to handle band instrument repairs in our humble basement. Since then, we have turned this function over to Crafted Clefs and our friends Norm and Sue. Their shop has grown and expanded over the years and they now have what is probably the best equipped repair shop of its kind in New England. Their stockpile of parts is phenomenal, their investment in tooling enables them to handle any job which comes around, and their experience and attention to detail assures that the musician gets his or her instrument back in great playing condition.
So if your instrument needs help, bring it on in.
